Moderne, frühe und anbausichere Wassermelone

Eine moderne Melonenhybride mit frühem Fruchtansatz. Die im Crimson-Typ länglichen, gestreiften Früchte werden etwa 6-8 kg schwer. Viking F1 ist auch in Mitteleuropa sicher kultivierbar. Dabei unterstützen auch die Resistenzen gegen Fusarium und Blattfleckenkrankheiten. Wassermelonen sind wärmebedürftig, zur erfolgreichen Kultur sind verfrühende und wärmende Maßnahmen unabdingbar.

  • Citrullus lanatus
  • Die Ernte erfolgt in warmen Lagen ab Juli
  • Melonen ranken mäßig und benötigen etwa 1-2 qm je Pflanze
  • In einem schönen und warmen Sommer enthält das Fruchtfleisch mehr Zucker als in einem kalten Sommer
  • 1 Portion = 10 Korn

Beste Resultate bringen eine Vorkultur mit Aussaat ab Anfang April im Gewächshaus, mit anschließender Pflanzung. Im Freiland freuen sich Melonen über eine Mulchfolie

Die Aussaat erfolgt im Haus ab Anfang April bei 24-28 ° C direkt mit 1-2 Korn in den kleinen Topf, die Töpfe nicht zu feucht halten, oder ab Mitte Mai in warmer Lage ins Freiland

Mögliche Schädlinge: Läuse, Mäuse, echter Mehltau
