Frühe, ertragreiche, kleine weiße Zuckermelone

Kiku ist eine sehr frühe und sehr ertragreiche kleine Zuckermelone aus Japan. Die weißen Früchte werden etwa 1500 - 200 Gramm schwer. Das ebenfalls weiße Fruchtfleisch is saftig, süß und erinnert ein wenig an Birnen. Gedeiht im Gewächshaus und in warmen Lagen auch im Freiland. Die Erntereife erkennt man dran, das die Rillen nicht mehr grün sind und die Früchte an einer Seite zartgelb anfärben.

Beste Resultate bringen eine Vorkultur mit Aussaat ab Anfang April im Gewächshaus, mit anschließender Pflanzung. Im Freiland freuen sich Melonen über eine Mulchfolie

  • Cucumis melo
  • Reifezeit: ca. 80 Tage
  • Melonen ranken mäßig und benötigen etwa 1-2 qm je Pflanze
  • 1 Portion = ca. 15 Pflanzen

Die Aussaat erfolgt im Haus ab Anfang April bei 24-28 ° C direkt mit 1-2 Korn in den kleinen Topf, die Töpfe nicht zu feucht halten, oder ab Mitte Mai in warmer Lage ins Freiland

Mögliche Schädlinge: Läuse, Mäuse, echter Mehltau
