Zahara White bildet unermüdlich einfache Blüten in leuchtendem Weiß. Einjährige, sehr robuste Neuzüchtung, die Sonne, Hitze aber auch Trockenheit verträgt und ein Magnet für Schmetterlinge und Insekten ist. Zinnia marylandica ist eine Kreuzung von Zinnia violacea und Zinnia angustifolia, gezüchtet von der Universität Maryland. Diese Zinnie ist deutlich weniger anfällig als die uns bekannten Zinnia elegans. Zinnia marylandica mögen warme, gerne auch einmal trockenere Standorte, um ihre wahre Pracht zu entfalten.

  • Die Blüte beginnt ab Ende Juni und hält an bis zum Frost
  • Die Pflanzen werden etwa 40 cm hoch
  • 1 Portion reicht für etwa 20 Pflanzen

Aussaat ab Anfang März im Gewächshaus bei 18-22 ° C, in kleine Töpfe pikieren und nach den letzten Frösten im Abstand ca. 30 cm auspflanzen. Direktsaat ab Mai möglich

Die Aussaat gelingt auch unerfahrenen Gärtnern problemlos, die Keimung erfolgt nach etwa 7-12 Tagen
