Sehr dekorative, dennoch auch köstliche Rarität

Kajari ist eine wunderhübsche, bunte kleine Melone, die ursprünglich aus Indien stammt. Sie reift mit 70-80 Tagen recht früh, was sie auch in Deutschland kultivierbar macht. Bei Erntereife duftet sie herrlich intensiv und fällt dann auch gerne von der Pflanze. Trotz der kleinen Größe ist sie eine Köstlichkeit, mit butterzartem, aromatischem Fruchtfleisch.

  • Cucumis melo
  • Die Ernte erfolgt in warmen Lagen ab Mitte Juli
  • Melonen ranken mäßig und benötigen etwa 1-2 qm je Pflanze
  • Zuckermelonen duften bei Erntereife stark
  • 1 Portion = 15 Korn

Beste Resultate bringen eine Vorkultur mit Aussaat ab Anfang April im Gewächshaus, mit anschließender Pflanzung. Im Freiland freuen sich Melonen über eine Mulchfolie. Kajari kann wegen der kleinen Fruchtgröße auch am Spalier aufgeleitet werden

Die Aussaat erfolgt im Haus ab Anfang April bei 24-28 ° C direkt mit 1-2 Korn in den kleinen Topf, die Töpfe nicht zu feucht halten, oder ab Mitte Mai in warmer Lage ins Freiland

Mögliche Schädlinge: Läuse, Mäuse, echter Mehltau
