Eine zuverläßige, frühe besondere Melone. Die etwa 2-3 Kg schweren Früchte haben nur eine dünne Schale und enthalten weißes, cremiges und aromatisches Fruchtfleisch, das sehr an Eiskrem erinnert. Ursprünglich von russischen Immigranten nach Kanada eingeführt, seit vielen Jahrzehnten beliebt und auch unter kühleren Bedingungen zuverläßig kultivierbar. Beste Qualität, wenn sie frisch aus dem Garten geerntet direkt auf den Tisch kommt

  • Citrullus lanatus
  • Melonen ranken mäßig und benötigen etwa 1-2 qm je Pflanze
  • 1 Portion enthält 10 Korn

Beste Resultate bringen eine Vorkultur mit Aussaat ab Anfang April im Gewächshaus, mit anschließender Pflanzung. Im Freiland freuen sich Melonen über eine Mulchfolie

In einem schönen und warmen Sommer enthält das Fruchtfleisch mehr Zucker als in einem kalten Sommer

Die Aussaat erfolgt im Haus ab Anfang April bei 24-28 ° C direkt mit 1-2 Korn in den kleinen Topf, die Töpfe nicht zu feucht halten, oder ab Mitte Mai in warmer Lage ins Freiland
