Violette Blütenknospen auf imposanter Pflanze

Violet de Provence ist eine besonders apart gefärbte Sorte dieser dekorativen Großstaude. Knospig geerntet sind die Blütenböden, wie auch die Schuppenblätter ein beliebtes Delikatessgemüse in der Küche. Als Schnittblume halten die Blüten sehr lange.

  • Cynara scolymus
  • Bei früher Aussaat erntet man spät im ersten Jahr, ansonsten in den Folgejahren ab Juli
  • Eine Portion reicht für etwa 20 Pflanzen

Die Aussaat erfolgt im Haus von Februar bis März bei 20-22 ° C direkt mit einem Korn in kleine Töpfe. Die Keimung erfolgt binnen 14-20 Tagen. Sobald die Pflanzen groß genug sind, wird im Abstand 80 x 80 cm ins Freiland gepflanzt

Artischocken sind Stauden, die durchlässige Böden mögen. Insbesondere im Winter kann Nässe und Kälte zu Ausfällen führen. Empfehlenswert ist ein Rückschnitt, eine Abdeckung mit Stroh und der Überzug mit einer Folie bis Mitte März. So geschützt, können Artischocken mehrere Jahre überdauern.

Im Pflanzjahr hatte ich im Herbst bereits eine schöne Ernte. Im Jahr darauf sind schon im März etliche Blütenknospen auf meiner Pizza gelandet????. Hab deshalb die Anbaufläche verdoppelt. Die ältesten Stauden stehen bereits im 3. Jahr.
