Eine Pflanze aus den Subtropen und Tropen. Dort und auch im asiatischen Raum werden die jungen Früchte wie Gurken zubereitet und gegessen. Wenn die Früchte beginnen auszureifen, dann werden sie bitter. Bei Vollreife platzen die Früchte auf und entlassen die Samen.

  • Momordica charantia
  • Pflanzabstand etwa 80 x 60 cm
  • In Asien bekannt als Essensbeilage, Überdosierung führt jedoch zu Magen-, Darmbeschwerden und weiteren Folgen
