Diese im Volksmund oft als „Honigmelone“ bezeichnete Sorte ist besonders haltbar. Gelbe, oval geformte Früchte mit leicht strukturierter Schale, ca. 1,5 bis 3 Kg schwer. Das cremeweiße Fleisch ist süß. Gut ausgereifte, aber nicht überreife Früchte lassen sich einige Wochen kühl lagern, was dieser Sorte auch den Spitznamen Wintermelone gab. Auf dem Feld kann man dieser Frucht ein paar Tage mehr geben um sicher zu sein, das sie reif ist.

  • Cucumis melo
  • Die Ernte erfolgt in warmen Lagen ab Juli
  • Melonen ranken mäßig und benötigen etwa 1-2 qm je Pflanze
  • 1 Portion enthält 15 Korn

Beste Resultate bringen eine Vorkultur mit Aussaat ab Anfang April im Gewächshaus, mit anschließender Pflanzung. Im Freiland freuen sich Melonen über eine Mulchfolie. Direktsaat ist ab Anfang Mai möglich.

Die Aussaat erfolgt im Haus ab Anfang April bei 24-28 ° C direkt mit 1-2 Korn in den kleinen Topf, die Töpfe nicht zu feucht halten, oder ab Mitte Mai in warmer Lage ins Freiland

Mögliche Schädlinge: Läuse, Mäuse, echter Mehltau
