Sehr zuverläßige, extrafrühe Honigmelone

Sweet Granite gilt als früheste Cantaloupemelone und ist somit auch in Deutschland sicher anzubauen. In den 70er Jahren in den USA extra für kühle und nördliche Regionen gezüchtet. Länglich-Oval, um 1 Kg schwer, verfärbt sich die Schale bei Reife in ein Hellorange. Melonen sind von Beginn an sehr wärmemebedürftig, ihre Kultur bedarf etwas gärtnerischer Erfahrung. Sweet Granite gilt hierbei als gute Wahl.

  • Cucumis melo
  • Melonen ranken mäßig und benötigen etwa 1-2 qm je Pflanze
  • 1 Portion enthält: 15 Korn
  • Die Ernte erfolgt in warmen Lagen ab Mitte Juli

Beste Resultate bringen eine Vorkultur mit Aussaat ab Anfang April im Gewächshaus, mit anschließender Pflanzung. Im Freiland freuen sich Melonen über eine Mulchfolie.

In einem schönen und warmen Sommer enthält das Fruchtfleisch mehr Zucker als in einem kalten Sommer

Die Aussaat erfolgt im Haus ab Anfang April bei 24-28 ° C direkt mit 1-2 Korn in den kleinen Topf, die Töpfe nicht zu feucht halten, oder ab Mitte Mai in warmer Lage ins Freiland

Mögliche Schädlinge: Läuse, Mäuse, echter Mehltau
