Die als Mäusegurken bekannten, etwa 3-4 cm groß werdenden Früchte schmecken leicht säuerlich und sind eingemacht eine Spezialität.

  • Melothria scabra
  • 1 Portion reicht für etwa 20 Pflanzen

Am einfachsten ist die Vorkultur ab Ende März. Pflanzung ab Mitte Mai. Melothria gedeihen bei uns problemlos. Die Ernte setzt ab Juli ein.

Platzbedarf: 1 m²/ Pflanze

Pflanze die Freude macht

Alle Samen sind aufgegangen. Die zierlichen Pflanzen sind am Spalier schnell und üppig gewachsen. Gesunde Pflanzen ohne Mehltau o. ä. Sehr ertragreich, man kann alle paar Tage naschen. Hatten 6 Pflanzen und haben so viel geerntet, sodass wir mehrere große Gläser eingeweckt haben. Uns schmecken sie am besten in der Größe von größeren Oliven. Bei 4 cm Größe werden sie sauer und schmecken nicht mehr so gut. Früchte sehen auf dem Brotzeitteller dekorativ aus, ein Hingucker. Werden ganz sicher wieder angebaut.
